How is the movie narrative constructed in the web-based environment, where it is no longer tied to the chronological order of the story? Which shape can the permanent manipulative influence of the ‘viewer’ take on the narrative perceived by him/her? The web project JOURNEY TO THE PLANET OF NUCLEAR CHEWING GUM is based on experimental film, poetry texts and interactive web art that are arranged into many levels. Digital images of diverse objects are put into the foreground of the picture and overlap with the found and newly-assembled movie material. The objects can be moved and relocated freely by dragging and dropping them. Simultaneously, each movement is tied to the rendition of a subtitle and an individual noise. Through the active intervention of ‘the viewers’, a strongly variable narrative is created, playing in the spaces between text, picture and film

The work is permanently accessible online: http://journey-to-the-planet-of-nuclear-chewing-gum.verasebert.com - not for mobile!
